Brave Intro

Brave Generation conference has been going on much longer than I’ve been East-Coast. I have had the pleasure to work with the HFM team for the content for Brave Gen Intensive this year. ‘YOUTH’ by nature are a bit naive, dangerous, fun, and filled with potential. I love that there is a generation growing up that is dangerous, bold, and fun. This video was meant to capture just a glimpse of the youthful outlook & excitement. Shot on Sony FS-700, Ziess Cine 35mm & 50mm, Canon 5d MarkIII, Zeiss Plantar 50mm 1.4. Music (“Returned Prodigals” – Ryan Taubert) licensed through The Music Bed. Talent: Gabe & Dan Chabot, Griffen & C.J. Andes, and Jon Wisecarver.

Wandering Exiles

Too often it’s easy in our post-modern social media driven culture to feel isolation. We feel lost and alone. In all reality we are not. This video plays off of the biblical verse in Ephesians 2 declaring “You are no longer wandering exiles.” All footage shot on 5d Mark III, Zeiss 5omm. Talent: Janine Wallis. “Kings” by Ryan Taubert licensed from The Music Bed.

Speaking To Thomas

I’m skeptical of doubt. Well, I guess everyone is skeptical and doubtful in some way shape or form. Often in Church circles the exploration of doubt can be something frowned upon or downgraded. This sermon for easter sunday was highlighting the unifying factor of doubt. We all are human, and struggle with pieces of belief & unbelief. The relationship between Thomas and Jesus paints a picture of God’s view of doubt. Shot on Sony FS-700, Zeiss 35mm.

Vic + Alaina Proposal

Proposals are a beautiful thing. They can be romantic, exciting, emotional, and everything in between. This shoot was so much fun. I had the pleasure of helping one of my best friends trick his girlfriend into being the talent for a pseudo church video shoot. To her surprise, the shoot ended in a fun proposal on the Brooklyn Bridge. She figured out pretty quickly the video shoot was a scam. Great couple, great day. Shot on Canon 5d Mark III with Rode VideoMic. Absolutely fun. Music by Holley Maher.

Our Father

Prayer is an interesting thing. There are many ways to go about it, many differing flavors and preferences on what is acceptable to pray about. The “Our Father” Sermon series walks through the blueprint Jesus gave his disciples on how to pray, also commonly known as ‘the lords prayer’. This passage is arguably the most popular and most widely memorized passage of scripture throughout the entire bible. This promotional video captures the classical reverence for the passage, as well as breaking up the passage into pieces covered over the 5-week sermon series. Art direction by Madison Copple & Jon Wisecarver. Music by Jon Foreman.

God and Cash

Money is one of the most touchy subjects. Talk to me about anything, but don’t tell me what to do with my money. This promotional video for City Church’s sermon series: “God and Cash” highlights the ‘hush hush’ nature of money. The almost political styling is reminicent of Watergate, but don’t be looking for Francis Underwood anywhere around these parts. All stock footage and creative commons photography. Music is “Sail” by Awolnation. Art direction by Madison Copple and Jon Wisecarver.

Broken Home

Family is a subject that hits home, literally. This promotional video for City Church (New Haven) highlights the broken nature of the American family. The husband-wife argument sequence culminates in the mother racing out of the home with the toddler-daughter. The wooden dollhouse sits as the focal piece for the video, and in the finale sequence the dollhouse is smashed into a million miniature bits. Shot with a Cannon 5d Mark III, Zeiss ZE 50mm 1.4 lens. The breaking of the house was set-up by pre-breaking the majority of the structure to get a clean ‘burst’ effect on the one-and-only take. Actors: Tyler & Madison Copple, Lily Deciccio. Music by The Lumineers. Art direction by Madison Copple.

Jesus Said

Whether you have faith or not, Jesus Christ is one of the most fascinating people in human history. No one had ever had such a following, such allure, and such scandal around their life. The words he spoke were audacious and life-changing. This City Church (New Haven) Promotional Video sets up some of the most bold claims Jesus had ever made. The plot of the introduction is a young-adult male struggling through the bible and its implications on his life and the life of his fellow students. Through his stroll the the historic Yale campus, the hero crosses path with countless peers and is brought face-to-face with the question raised by Romans 10:14 when it asks “how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?” Shot on Canon 7d, Canon ES 50mm 1.8. Shot at Yale in New Haven, CT & Castle Craig in Hamden, CT. Actor: Gabriel Chabot.
